The Four Shorter Masses offer the listener on two CDs Bach's own selection of some of his finest choral writing. These are early recordings, but we have used all our digital arts to bring the sound up to modern standards (check the music samples!). We have heard all the competing performances and recordings over the years - though in truth, they are few in number - but we have yet to find an equal to these classic performances in their outstanding musical strength and clarity.
